The Filipino Community Council of Victoria Inc. had the honour of attending the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Melbourne Press Club's 2025 State Budget Lunch with Victorian Treasurer Jaclyn Symes MP at Crown Melbourne.
This event was a valuable opportunity for community leaders, including multicultural organisations like FCCVI, to hear firsthand how the Victorian State Budget will shape the future of our state.
What does this mean for us?
The 2025-26 Budget places strong emphasis on healthcare, infrastructure, and cost-of-living relief. While these are welcome initiatives, FCCVI remains vigilant in ensuring that:
๐Older Victorians, especially those from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, are not left behind as Support at Home program is scheduled to replace the current Home Care Packages Program starting July 2025.
๐ Multicultural organisations receive sustainable funding to continue delivering grassroots, culturally safe programs, and services that meet the complex needs of our communities.
As always, FCCVI reaffirms its commitment to championing the rights of Filipino-Australians and other multicultural groups by staying informed, involved, and vocal in policy spaces.
