Dear FCCVi Home Care Package Clients, Families, and Community Members,

The Australian Government, through the Minister for Aged Care and Seniors, has announced a delay to the implementation of the new Aged Care Act and the Support at Home Program. These major changes were originally planned to start on 1 July 2025 but will now take effect from 1 November 2025.

How this affects you?
• No immediate changes will occur to your current Home Care Package (HCP) services.
• You will continue to receive care and support as usual under the existing aged care system until the new reforms begin in November 2025.
• This delay gives more time for everyone—clients, families, providers, and government—to better prepare for the transition.

For Our Community
• This delay provides an opportunity to:
• Ensure services continue to meet your needs without disruption.
• Have more time to understand the upcoming changes.
• Stay informed and engaged through community updates, forums, and information sessions.

What FCCVi is Doing
At the Filipino Community Council of Victoria (FCCVi), we are:
• Closely monitoring updates from the Department of Health and Aged Care.
• Attending training and consultation sessions to understand how the new system will work.
• Preparing our team and systems to smoothly transition when the changes begin.
• Keeping our clients and families informed every step of the way.

We are committed to continuing our person-centred care approach and making sure our community is supported before, during, and after these changes.

If you have any questions or would like to know more, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your Care Manager or the FCCVi office.
Thank you for your ongoing trust and support.
